Description
The angle grinder resistant lock from Onguard – punches well above its weight in real life testing!
It’s not a very large lock, which can be challenging when locking up electric bicycles. However, there’s not usually a lot of competition for bike parking spaces in Auckland, so as long as you can get right up next to a street pole or bike rack, you can use this lock to lock up most e-bike models. Refer to photos showing the Onguard Rock Solid locking up a Tern GSD, Riese and Muller Nevo, Riese and Muller Carrie and an eZee Sprint and you’ll see a pattern – it’s possible, right up next to the pole.
Some people also view a grinder resistant lock as ideal for simply putting through one of their wheels and not trying to lock to a pole After all, when using an angle grinder resistant lock, the pole that you lock to becomes the weakest link – a grinder could probably cut through it. Naturally you’d do this in combination with another lock that can lock your bike to a pole so that you’re covered for both angle grinder attacks and ‘pick up and put in a van’ thefts.
