DNP freewheel for electric bikes

Description

These are the original specification freewheel (rear gear set) used on the Magnum e-bikes and the eZee Forza.

If you own one of these bikes and your bike is ‘freewheeling in both directions’ when you pedal, meaning you can’t get any traction when you pedal, or is intermittently suffering this problem, then you need to replace your freewheel and this is the one you need. When you change your freewheel, it is quite likely you also need to replace your chain, as these usually wear at a similar rate.

The 8 speed option is used on the following Magnum models:

– Magnum Metro and Metro +

– Magnum Peak

– Magnum Navigator, Voyager and Summit

The 9 speed option is used on the eZee Forza (and most any other rear wheel drive eZee bike).

These are called ‘freewheels’ because the freewheel mechanism is part of this product. They are also referred to as ‘screw on’ type or ‘screw on freewheels’ or ‘multiple freewheels’. This family of products are designed to screw on to the threaded part of the rear hub. This is in contrast to ‘cassette’ type rear gear sets that slide onto a ‘freehub body (containing a freewheel mechanism)’ that is part of the rear hub. 

You cannot put a cassette rear gear system on a Magnum e-bike or onto an eZee Forza, you must use a ‘freewheel’ style like this product. 

Freewheels are less common now than cassette types, so you don’t find a lot of choices of freewheels out there. When you do find them, they usually have 13 teeth (13T) on the smallest cog, where the DNP product offers 11 teeth (11T). This means that the DNP achieves a higher (faster) top gear than the other brands out there.
