Description

This is an extra wide Abus wheel lock (also called frame lock or cafe lock). This is needed when your bike frame has space to mount a wheel lock, but the rear chain stays are wider than most other wheel locks on the market.

For example, this wheel lock will fit the back wheel of a Sinch Jaunt e-bike, the Trek Verve 4 and the Haibike Trekking 9, where other wheel locks will not. It is becoming more commonly used as tyres continue to trend towards wider sizes. In some cases you’ll also need to purchase mounting straps as your bike may not have threaded mounting holes and even if they do, sometimes they don’t actually line up properly for wheel locks.

We have also had success using this lock on the front rigid forks of longtail cargo bikes that do not fit wheel locks on the back wheel, such as the Moustache Lundi 20 and the Benno Boost. When fitting to front forks, you also need to purchase these mounting straps.

This model is non-key retaining (NR) so you have to take the key out while riding.
